Picked up my Z4 today

Hello fellow car people.

I'm Mike, 33, and after 10 hours and a 300ish mile round trip, using a taxi, train, tube, another train and then a bus to get there, I have just arrived home with my new toy.

A lovely 07 2.0 e85. In black, with the M sport wheels, suspension, heated seats, parking sensors, wind deflector etc etc.

It's in pretty great condition considering it's done 90500 miles. The inner part on the alloys could do with a refurbish, but I'll wait till after winter for that. I do want to relocate the roof motor (it works perfectly at the mo), get the 'exhaust mod' done and also make the exhaust tip all shiney again. Other than that, a good polish and wax and it'll look amazing.

A couple of pics for your viewing pleasure...

Welcome OP!

You must be pretty dedicated to go that far! I thought going from Sandhurst to Rugby for my 2nd one was quite keen!

I hope you get plenty of enjoyment from yours!

Looks like you've got yourself a nice Zed there - my first Zed was a 2.0 with the M Sport package
You could try autosol on that tail pipe, but from the pics it looks beyond help!

Welcome to the forum, epic journey to collect your new pride and joy. Nice looking example and wearing the correct aerial with pride

Thanks for the welcome.

This is a great site, really helpful, knowledgeable members. I've known for a good few months that I wanted a Z4 so have been lurking in the background and doing lots of research.

It was a long way to go to pick up a car, but this one just seemed to tick all the right boxes- right colour, had lots of options, full BMW service, long mot with no advisories, within price range. I live in Northamptonshire, just off J18 off the M1, and the car was in Hove, near Brighton on the South coast!

The exhaust mod I want is the one ducklakeview (forum member) is currently doing. Although he's miles away too, so may see if someone closer can do it.

I'll try and clean the exhaust up, but it doesn't sound good by the comment. What's the alternative? Buy a new exhaust?

I just sold my motorbike last week, and this is my practical replacement! It's safer than a bike, I don't need to change outfits, I'll use it if it's raining, it's got a massive boot (in comparison to a bike!) and I can take one of the 3 kids or the wife out too. If they're good, and deserve the treat :driving:

Hi and welcome OP. :D

Regarding the exhaust, it looks like it needs a cover trim as you have the bare exhaust at the minute.

That's a good point, I'll look into It.
Can anyone recommend a place to get an exhaust tip from?

Welcome aboard. If your looking to mod the backbox and also purchase a new trim it might be worth seeing if anywhere does a sports backbox for the 2.0. may work out cheaper and less hassle.

Hi there Mike welcome on board. I nice little adventure to get you into owning this fine motor vehicle and I have to say yours does look particularly fine in those pics. Enjoy.

Welcome to the forum.

Matt (MachineMonkey) might be an option for some nice looking tips.
