Picked up my Z yesterday!

It is now!
Our half day finish is 12:30!
Im offski molovski!
Thanks Gannet I will.

will post some pics when I get a chance.
:)

We'll I've got it and its fantastic!Picked up a stone chip on the windscreen on the way home but that can be easily fixed so no big deal.
Sorry but no pics yet because, of course seeing as its a roadster, its rained continously since I bought it! :x
Will get some up asap.

Two things, does anyone know whether the operation of the roof remotely from the key was standard from launch?
The two cars I test drove, one newer than mine and one older both had it and were less well specced than mine so I dount its an issue of options.
Mine is an 2004 04 plate if that makes a difference.

Also, it has electric folding mirrors, which I was expecting to fold away when you turned the car off or locked it - they dont!
Is this not a function or is it something that needs programming?

Thanks,

I've picked up more windscreen chips with this car than with any other car I've had :( thankfully none bad enough to get a replacement :)

The remote roof is not turned on by default. I had to get an independent specialist to program it (mines a March 2004, 04 plate too). Doesn't seem totally reliable on mine for some reason though :?

no idea about the mirrors :idunno:

Glad you are enjoying it :D

Will see if I can do a bit of digging on the mirrors!
Seems odd to have folding mirrors that dont fold up to protect themselves by default.
:?

have you had chance to read the manual?

Read the manual!
Given I picked it up at 5pm yesterday what d'ya reckon!
:P

No, I knew they could be folded in manually and how to do that, just thought they would auto fold in when parking up.
Maybe not!

Will get dealer to program remote hood when it goes in for its free MOT later this year.
:)

A BMW dealer may not activate the remote hood operation due to liability insurance, or thats what sytner told me Best to find an indy with an autologic and get them to do it. They will usually sit with you and go through all the options available which i'm sure includes folding mirrors when you lock the car?!? Only takes 10 minutes unlike sytner who wanted my car for the day.

The OEM remote roof is a PITA as you have to keep your thumb on the button whilst is opens or closes the roof which is harder than it sounds, best bet is to get the reinhold remote module which just requires the press to open or close.
