Picked up a new car for Mrs PVR

She is getting used to the gears now.

Car has every extra available, except for the red brake calipers that I could not add to the order.

Standard : Xenons

Extra: Leather, upgraded 17" wheels, fully auto airco, chromatic mirrors, wind deflector, hifi, special paint (Grey)

Soooo neat. Glad you finally managed to get it.

Never did ask before did Mrs pvr get a say in it, have any ideas or was it a total suprise?

very nice!

A friend of mine recently got the 500 abarth and its pretty nimble in her hands.

Got any pics of the roof? doesnt looks very convertible like in the pic above!

Great car. Very nice colour (grey). I really like the rear diffuser and left/right pipes layout. Take a better picture when you put the roof down.

Finally got around to uploading the pictures ...

Thanks.

It actually sounds louder then my M when you start it.

The seats look lovely and the twin exhausts, I like that a lot

While this owes a lot to the MIni, I think the 500 is so much nicer. Around here the perception of the Mini was spoiled quite early on by estate agents, they all had them. The facelift didn't help either - although it is a great car by any account.

Back to the 500, can you see anything out the back with the roof down? How quiet is it?

View not good top down, but you have h-u-g-e side mirrors where you can see a lot.

Quiet? roof closed is fine, top down and full power is noisy. Nice sort of noisy.

Needs 98 RON fuel for best results. Good thing that the Sport button stays on (i.e. has a memory of what you last had).

A nice alternative to say a cooperS. i have seen a few around in white, and i do think they look quite cool. its the sort of car i wouldnt buy, but good if the mrs gets one as you can take it for a spin now and again !...nice.

Electronically, it is miles ahead of the Z with the voice activation / control of just about anything. BT pairing is easy as well as it presents you with the code to type in on the phone, i.e. you don't need to know it as the system will tell you.

Must teach the system to understand a Dutch accent though ... :headbang:

Have you joined the owners club yet - if not here's a link to their website.....

Careful Alan ... there are already 6 of my guys in Dubai on a project, I might drop by and visit you :poke:

Definitely not a convertible a bloke could get away with unless they enjoy ridicule and/or tight trousers but I do like the way the design keeps the same space for passengers as a tin top. My brother is after the ess tin top which should be fun around a b road...

Almost bought a Diesel 500C last year with the scrappage, but they're huge money - the Abarth is fab but sooo expensive!

Whats the residuals like? Presume you're not *that* bothered with all those extras.

Brings it home when you say it's worth more than the Zed :(

There is still an ordering waiting list, so residuals are supposed to be good. This car is 20k, and supposedly it will loose about 5k over 3 years.

A bit like what the M lost in about the first 6 months :)
