After selling a Subaru Impreza 6 weeks ago, I was on the lookout for its replacement, shortlist was down to a TT, Mini Cooper S or the Z4 but after one drive in the 3L I was sold! Viewed a couple of rough ones and then today did a 180 mile round trip to collect my new pride and joy. Couldn't stop smiling the whole way home.

Just thought I would say hi and I look forward to learning all about them through this site and hopefully adding my own experiences too.

Welcome & congrats

You'll not find much of substance on here though, mostly just pictures of cats and people discussing MPG...

:P

Welcome along! Looks a gleamer. November is a good month for buying, I did it last year. Look forward to getting your roof down on the crisp days !

Thanks for the welcome guys. Really pleased with it, glad I got one with sports seats and also has bluetooth / business radio, although I don't have the code so looks like all the trim in the boot is going to have to come out in order to read the code off the actual BT unit.

Very nice clean looking Zed.

If you don't want to lift the carpet the bmw dealer can tell you the code, but probably charge way too much.

After a week of ownership, I am so glad I made the choice to get one, I love it.

In my first week, I have:

- Thoroughly enjoyed hearing the straight 6 noise and been quite impressed by the mpg at the same time
- Managed to discover the aux input in the glove box and linked up my ipod, however it's annoying that you can't use the controls with it though.
- Spent ages trying to get the stuck ashtray cover to open, finally managed it and found the offending 50p coin
- Realised how easy it is to get the back end out in a slippy car park
- Unfortunately heard a very quiet clonking noise when pulling away slowly, will start to diagnose loose ARB, broken springs etc...
