couldn't be happier with it, great condition, the engine bay looked cleaner than the 57 plate I was selling a really tidy car and a very happier buyer!!

Out of interest my roof doesn't lower using the key fob but I did read in the owners book that BMW can program loads of stuff like the roof thing and like seat settings and climit control settings for each key ect. I know an indie that charges £25 to set it all ip but I'd spend £50 in fuel gettin there any idea how much a main dealer would charge?

Look forward to some pics once you get time

Dealer will be around £50, but it seems to vary wildly and they cannot programme the roof on a prefacelift model. Some indy's can do it, but check.

Search on here as I've posted a list of mine of what can be programmed as standard on a 2003 UK model which will give you some ideas.

Thanks mate, iv seen a few people talking about 2004s with the roof doing that so I'm guessing it can be done. I would find that very cool. There are a few pics on that link, I'm loving the engine sound!!!

There are indeed 2 ways of doing it.

Some Indy's have been able to programme the key on the earlier models, but not all. The alternative (which I have) is a Rheinhold module that performs the same function, so yes it certainly can be done.

I also added the one touch module so no need to hold the button inside to activate it.

welcome. Mine is also a 3.0litre auto. Love it to bits! Took one of the baffles out on the Motor Sound Generator pipe, sounds even better when you floor it!

Congrats.

I have just ordered myself a Rheinhold module as the factory option of opening and closing the roof is overrated! I cant move too far from the car and need to keep the button depressed for it to work - and the windows take ages to go back up!

For £150 the one touch will be worth it!

Maybe it's jus the way your post is written, or I'm reading it, but there are 2 modules. One opens and closes the roof from the key using 3 blips, the second module replaces holding your finger on the open/close button inside the car.

Have you got both?

X2, it does seem to be a bit hit and miss as to when it works, I bought a module before getting the key programmed thought for the price it would be rude not to try, looks like I'm waiting for a dry day to fit the module now.

I hope you got both modules for that price :o
