A mate of mine has this on his 130i, we installed it along with a Short-Shift Kit...

Feels nice, but looks weird in the car! We all came to an agreement that you cant tell if your in gear or not as for some reason in Neutral it leans to one side as if its in 1st!

Sounds like an issue with the short shift kit and not the shift knob.

Ah thats what it is!

Short shift kits do move the gear lever then. A few other cars I've sat in have had weird gearstick neutral locations (feels like the gearbox is hanging off the mounts)... and now I think back they have had short shift kits fitted. Bloody terrible shift feel vs oem too!
