Pic request: E85 rear aero spoiler

I cant seem to find many pics of this, on google or here... is that because it is generally considered crap or something? :|

Pics on a black z4 please, even better if it's an M... even better if it's an M with a 25mm drop and the aero sides aswell! :D

http://www.mstyle.co.uk/acatalog/BMW_Z_Z4_Z4M_rear_spoilers_bootlids.html as a starter and here's a black M with the full kit......

Thanks for the reply :)

I have seen that tiny pic on MStyle but it is... tiny. :( And I dont see any cars with the rear spoiler in that thread? Some pics seem to refuse to load for me though... does it look good enough to be filtered as pRon? :o

Probably not for me, but it's personal preference.

I assume you mean this bad boy:

Here's the original post - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17054 - couple of other pictures on there too.

Thats the one I was after... thanks again for 97381th time Pawn

I really quite like that and think it's quite subtle and should work well with the rest of my plans! :)

No problem - knowing these things is spending too much time on here. I know this ad particularly well, and had Tom got back to me before my exhaust went on, that spoiler may well be sitting in my garage looking for an owner!

One thing Dreamer mentioned, and I haven't seen on myself, but apparently the spoiler doesn't just go up, but it sticks over the back a fair bit too.

More importantly... what other plans? 8)

Taz, not yet... I have decided to get the little trim bit and quite possibly the centre console first too and I am spending far too much £££ on the car this month with new suspension bits so pending how much I get raped for labour on the suspension fit I will source and fit the interior bits after :)

Pawn, after the car is mechanically sorted (H&R sport springs, new front bushes and rear shock mounts, RE050's all round) i'll be getting the aero sides and that spoiler as well as redoing my wheels shadow chrome and having my calipers powder coated letterbox red, oh and black kidney grills hence why I think the spoiler will work well with that particular look, hopefully the drop and aero sides will give a more squat and mean stance

In my head it all looks amazing and gives the car the road presence boost i'm after, let's hope it works in practice!

You should ring your insurance Co first, I was going to have the aero pack fitted 6 years ago but the massive insurance hike was not worth it, another on here had the same problem, and another poster had no problem, so ring and make sure :)

Thanks for the tip! I gave them a call and once the lady was convinced that it is an OEM kit she had no qualms with it whatsoever! Michael Ward Associates btw, I think the underwriter is Aviva. :)

As long as it's been disclosed you should have no problems, so result

Thats right PawnS, they really stick out the back:thumbsdown: You can see it a bit in that pic.

If they just followed the boot line upwards they would OK, but from the side.... they just look out of place to me.

Didn't like the look of them to start but it's a grower. Was considering taking it off but think it just about goes with the rest of the aero kit.

Rummaged and got as many photos of different angles I could for you. My favourite angle to look at it is in the rear view mirror

It's not an M, and it's not black but it's a spoiler!

Much prefer the OEM one tbh, follows the lines of the car better and is to my eyes more subtle :)

On a side note, I have just updated my nav with a custom M splash screen, night colours and inbuilt camera alerts, how cool???

Thanks OP - hope some of them were of use. Where abouts are you? I think it looks different in person so if you're nearby...

Very cool regarding the NAV - combine with a pocketGPS world subscription to keep tickets at bay.

Personally i think the rear spoiler looks a bit naff, a bit like some plastic has melted to the boot lid. i think if i had to have one it would be the alpina version. but thats just me.
