PIC REQUEST cubby light switch

Can somebody please post a wee pic for me showing how the switch for the light inside the cubby is fitted?

The switch is a wee silver latch thing at the bottom of the cubby door. I had to remove it when I took the centre console out for wrapping and i couldn't figure out how to reattach it so I just left it and took the bulb out to prevent the battery from draining. With the car possibly going this weekend I'd like to fit it properly for the new owner.

Ta.

the silver bit hooks onto a little black plastic bit at the bottom.

if you press the silver bit it should turn the light on and off.

Yup. I worked that out eventually but no matter how I hook it on the door doesn't switch it off when closed. Nothing was broken or bent during removal and refitting. I just can't figure which way it goes on.

A quick snap taken on a phone would be a massive help if someone could be so kind.

It will not drain your battery. It goes out after a few mins once you've taken the ignition key out.

That little ridge in the door lid pushes down on the flat part of the switch as per picture one.

My first satnav retrofit :)

Not so sure mine does that but I can confirm that it goes out immediately when you lock the car and comes back on as soon as you unlock it.

Does seem stupid. Maybe fridge lights are really always on when the doors are closed too.
