Piano Black dash trim

Hi everyone,

I bought a piano black dash trim (very cheap the poor guy who sold it had higher hopes for it) recently but unfortunately it is missing the bit by the headlight switch,have asked BMW (& Joe) and the cheapest I can get it,even from breakers is about £110.

at the moment I am considering getting some black gloss vinyl and wrap my original one,which wouldn't cost too much.Not sure how it would look like but will give it a go.

any way,took me a while to install the main part on the dash,but I like the final result,let me know what you think.

do you know how much would they charge?do they use the existing part?

Its just paint and a build up of layers of lots a' laquer. Any slight difference wont be apperent as its such a small part and isnt directly next to any of the other sections. Thats what i would do.

I quite like my brushed aluminium dash, wouldn't bother changing it myself. The only thing I would maybe consider is having it painted and finished the same as the exterior.

Anyone done this in the past?

what happened was when i bought the car there was a very slight mark on the dash so the dealer exchanged it for me, i kept the original for a spare, eventually i sold it cos it was under my feet, the mark was near impossible to notice

I know,the seller wasn't very happy but I mentioned it to him that it was his own timing that let him down.who will finish an auction in the middle of the working day?
