Piano black dash trim

Hi all I have a genuine piano black 2 part dash trim for sale. Bought this for my car but decided to stay with leather carbon.
Will put some pickies on tomorrow but they are in A1 condition.
Thought £250 was a fair price as that’s what I paid.
You can pick up or I will post at your cost.

Wow! Is this what they go for now? Assuming this is E85/86.
And why only 2 part?

Yes sorry E85 / E86 that’s all I got when I bought it. My car has piano black on centre console with carbon leather on dash.

Ah okay. So you’re keeping the centre console piano black trim and selling the 2 x spare dash parts.

Your close I already had the piano black centre console in my car & bought the 2 dash parts but then changed my mind & stuck with original.

I'd be tempted by this but can't get my central air vent out :x
At some point it has been taken out for some reason. I suspect that when it was replaced, the upper tabs were folded back further to improve retention and now I just cannot reach the tabs through the slots in the vent housing. I would be prepared to destroy the vanes and flaps in the vent to improve access (I have a spare vent) but need to be sure this would work. Has anyone else been desperate enough to try this?
Sorry to hi-jack your listing!

Push as hard as you can on the top of the vent (so the end of the metal clips are as far back as possible) and use a small screwdriver at the steepest angle to get as far in the front of those openings to enable to push the clip down.

There are also 2 plastic tabs at the bottom far left and right that also need to be prised up. Work on one end at a time.

Hi,
I use an unbent paperclip to hook around the metal clips and pull them down. Then use a plastic trim tool or old credit card to prise the vent forward. Once the vent pulled forward slightly the clip will remain unclipped and you can do the same on the other side. A tip I picked up from someone on the forum, sorry can't remember who, but it works for me

@sludgepump, as you’ve gathered by the previous three posts it’s not an easy thing to get out. Point the vents down and shine a torch up so you can see the clips. I also find it helps to get a credit card in behind the vent so it’s more inclined to “pop out” when you disengage the catches. This is what you are working with.

Thanks everyone. You are a helpful bunch!
I have a spare vent so I have been practising on that quite successfully but when it comes to the vent installed in the car nothing seems to work. :x
Thanks for the suggestions I will have another go at the weekend.
:D :D :D

For the top tabs I use stereo release keys like the below but bend an angle on the end about 1-1.5cm.

As you have a spare vent to practise on prise up the 2 bottom tabs left and right and try and make a tool to jam in there. Maybe try cutting strips of credit card that when you lift the tab up with a screwdriver you can slide the credit card strip underneath to stop it dropping down. Then all you'll need to be worrying about is the top clips.

My pre-facelift grey vent and stereo were easy to remove and didn't even need to worry about the bottom tabs on the vent. My face-lift black set is far more difficult to remove the vent.
