I can only put my inability to understand what your post was about down to a combination of age and insanity. The vinyl looks good but the wheels are superb and go so well with the red. My Z is the same colour and I am very tempted by these wheels. Having just ordered a new daily today I don’t think my bank balance could stand any more expenditure on cars at the moment.red_35is said:Christrong said:Wow that looks absolutely amazing. Thanks... this is my fav photo since applying the vinyl

The red is mine... the thread was not on changing the colour of the wheels to black, but applying a little vinyl to the side of the Z.

Nothing exciting I am afraid. We had a 330d Touring until last year but began to panic over the diesel issues. So we moved from the sublime to the ridiculous and bought Toyota Prius. Surprisingly we both enjoyed driving. It’s very easy to live with, comfortable and quiet. Petrol consumption has worked out at over 69 mpg and there are lots of toys like head up displays, park assist, lane monitoring, high beam assist etc. It does, of course lack acceleration and the boot, although large, is an awkward shape. We have had difficulty in fitting in a decent dog cage. Toyota use the same hybrid drive train in the Corolla and also have it with a bigger more powerful engine which delivers a 0 to 60 time of 8.2 secs. So it is the Estate version of this we have ordered. I am sure it will make a good work horse.red_35is said:IRD said:I can only put my inability to understand what your post was about down to a combination of age and insanity. Thanks, they were actually my spare set from my old BMW 330i E92 Coupe. The original Z m sport wheels are currently in storage.
The wheels are not priced bad, and I am glad to say don't suffer with cracks. But you will likely spend more on good tyres then the wheels themselves. What's the new daily?
A car that matches the mpg of my old Peugout 106 diesel ( which i still think is the best all round car i ever owned) from 1995 and i once fitted inside 9 traffic light heads.IRD said:Nothing exciting I am afraid. A couple of years ago I would have laughed in your face if you had asked if I would buy a Prius but it has proved a very easy car to live with. The new Corolla has 180 bhp and a healthy torque figure. When we took it for an hour’s test drive this afternoon mpg was 60mpg and we gave it a bit of welly so it is going to be economical to run and projected resale in two years time is 52%. However, I think I might just prefer driving the 3.5is somehow. :wink:flybobbie said:A car that matches the mpg of my old Peugout 106 diesel ( which i still think is the best all round car i ever owned) from 1995 and i once fitted inside 9 traffic light heads.IRD said:Nothing exciting I am afraid.
