Photos with AI

Took the Z4 to a new location a few nights ago for some photos.
Grabbed a few nice pics then decided to widen one using AI.
I was pretty impressed with what it produced. It looked pretty real to me and if you don't know the location, you probably won't be able to tell which one has AI in it.

But why, when there are limitless locations and possibilities in the real world?

Because you can't always go to everywhere in the real world. Besides, the facility is there to be trialled and used. It was the first time I've used it. I'll no doubt play with it now and again, but I doubt it'll become a regular thing for me.

If you want to sell a product or want display images, I can really see the benefit. If it is my car, I would want it to be like it was - not changed.

Must remember to do it when I sell my car at some stage

Pretty much what I said - just trying it out but not likely to become a regular thing

This is a relatively basic use of AI tho in terms of extending the canvas. When your completely changing the scenario then that's different.

Yeah...the car in all the shots is exactly as it was on site.

Speaking of AI-generated visuals, I recently tried the ai linkedin profile photo generator from Eltima. It’s amazing how it can take a normal photo and turn it into something that looks completely professional and polished — kind of like what AI did with my widened Z4 shot, but for profile pictures. Makes you appreciate how far AI has come in creating realistic images!
Nice! AI has really come a long way with stuff like that. I love when you can subtly tweak an image and it still feels natural — it’s almost like the AI is just extending your own vision.

It’s crazy how convincing it can be now. A few years ago, even small edits would look obviously fake, but now sometimes I have to do a double-take to figure out what’s real and what’s generated. Makes me wonder what photographers will consider “original” a few years from now.

I use it a lot, general rule of thumb when documenting a subject is to shoot wide medium and tight to tell the story. Tight can be too tight and the medium shot gives a different emotive feel. Sometimes I need space for graphical elements for marketing purposes so this is really where it helps immensely.

I use AI all the time, not to create but to aid in tasks to increase efficiency. For example I recently shot a corporate video in a lab scenario, there were sensitive subjects so the AC was on and there were also machines that couldn't be turned off in the background. I set the mic up as well as you can but there is no stopping background noise like that. There was 3 hours of audio complete pain to organise and edit.

I spent all day yesterday pulling my hair out (what i have left) and could not get rid of the multiple frequencies without killing the quality of the vocal audio so I tried a podcast ai app, with 10 mins the audio sounded unbelievable. Done dropped on my timeline and off the the client.

Not about using to to make your work but speed up the jobs that are tedious take time and inevitably make me more money and give me more time.

Cant be an expert at everything, budgets dont allow for sound mastering so a little help goes a long way.

I've been a graphic designer for over 30 years, I use it where I've been given shots that are too tight and need more space. Instead of spending a couple of hours in Photoshop recreating sections, it only takes a few minutes. There is a lot of criticism in my industry about its use, but I just treat it like another tool in the box, it's not always perfect but combined with Photoshop it can be excellent. I've started using AI videos also, combined again with tools like Adobe Premiere, can produce some great results.
