PHOTOS @ Cadwell Park Today now added

I am really surprised this isn't full already. For those thinking that 15 minutes an hour isn't enough....it works out perfectly for anyone new or with only a couple of TDs to their name.m15 mins hard driving generally means at least the same amount of time parked to allow everything to cool down to normal. It also gives us time to watch other marquee and bikes all on the same day. 1hr30-45 mins track time is the equivalent of 10 laps of the Ring (@£22 a lap)... See Man Maths makes it work !

Get it booked, it'll be a great day out

We have a maximum of 25 but do we have a minimum number?
Realistically they need 20. If we didn't make 20-25 I think they would put the price up if we wanted to do it again next year.
July is still a bit away. MSVT advised me that the majority of people book about 3-4 weeks before an event. It then fills up and people are left disappointed.
So anybody wanting to attend, don't leave it too late and miss out.

If this helps...................
I am a 50 something. Relatively new to sports cars but have had Moto-X bike racing experience many moons ago! I class myself as a reasonable driver. :o
I was concerned that I might get carried away and 'bin' the car but I have decided its a perfect chance to improve/test my driving skills, learn more about the capabilities of the Z also having a bit of 'banter with other like minded people.
Sounds great fun............ its not a lot of money (in the grand scheme of things) I don't care if I end up being the slowest on the track but i will be a better safer and happier driver at the end of it .
Get your self signed up!

I'd normally be up for this, but my new work rota (Mon-Fri, rather than Tue-Thur) means I can't take weekdays off without losing a day's pay.

It's also a bit of a trip for me from Liverpool (4 hours IIRC from my last visit there) - so would probably need to camp/hotel overnight too.

Plus I'm not sure what Mr Palmer would think of an experienced (100+ days) track dayer joining in one of his novice days (supposed to be less than 3 days under your belt).

The Zed session is for a mixture of drivers all driving Zeds. There will be plenty of novices and some experienced track drivers too. The other car session is restricted to novice drivers 3 track rule but the Zed session is not.

I was at Cadwell today with the BMW club and there was a handful of Zeds there. I think I have another couple to join us :)

Cadwell's a lovely track, but braking into Hairpin with that wall only a few feet/yards away is scary. Maybe I need to go slower through the Hall Bends.

Gooseneck is frightening at speed too, especially when the car's not settled (which is about 99.9% of the time) :P

Ooh I might be up for this! How much roughly does track day insurance cost? I'm with Admiral and I don't think they cover it.

I've never done a track day before but always really fancied it, and now I've got the Zed there's no excuse.

Also what's the deal with passengers? Driver only or can I bring a mate to terrify? :D

Give Competion Car Insurance a call, number in first post.
Yes you can have a passenger, it's an extra £10 and you can pay that on the day.

I'll be on my own I think so if anyone wants to ride shotgun with me for a couple of sessions that's fine with me.

Hi Quadracer, I think I am taking the afternoon off work to come and meet you guys, but unfortunately cant afford to take part myself :( . Just wondering if I can take you up on your kind offer and have a ride for a couple of laps in the afternoon if you are on your own and don't mind?

Yes no problem :)

I am hoping a few extra Zed owners turn up to spectate as well as those taking part

Two months today, time to get booked and fill this day up :poke:

Hi, I've booked in for this as well. See you all there, fingers crossed for good weather.
Cheers.
Excellent, only a month to go so hopefully we start getting a bit more commitment soon. Added you to the list in the first post.

Just thought I'd update the insurance section.

Chris no longer works at Competition Car Insurance but I've been speaking to Jennifer 0115 968 2420 who's been very helpful.

I've been quoted £93.08 for the day and after my "slight" off at Oulton Park yesterday I think it's well worth it.

I was at Oulton Park on Friday in the Mini for a Test Day. Back again next Wednesday in the Zed :)

I've just requested a quote from them.

Fingers crossed as all the insurers I've tried so far will only cover very low road miles.
