I am looking into purchasing a photo printer. I have been looking at the HP Photosmart C4200 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier. Has anyone had experience with this printer or do you have something else you can recommend? Good quality photo printing is the priority as I either have or have access to other printers and scanners.

I got one for my father in law a couple of years ago. I found it was more expensive, and significantly lower quality than just popping down to the local photo shop. Even easier to do it online with Snapfish, etc.

The *only* benefit is speed, but price, durability and quality suffer :(

If you are after something good, you'll want to take a look at dye sublimation printers rather than inkjet ones. I know a guy who had one of these, and the results were very good. No idea how much they cost, though!

I have a Canon model something or other. Great quality for my new DSLR Nikon D80. However, unless I need something right then and there I pop down to my local Target (.29 ea for 4x6) or Wolf Camera for larger sizes.

I use the Dell Photo AIO Printer 962. It's An all in one w/fax. has a special cartridge for photos. Combined with a good quality photo paper it does a superior job, also has a flatbed scanner and page by page document scanner

Check the prices of the cartridges before you buy the printer.

A bloke I used to work with was cheaper buying a new printer with cartridges than buying the cartridges alone.

Epson cartridges are usualy about £10.00 per set depending on the printer. Their printers are usually good. Just depends on the quality you require.
