Loving the fact that [ref]Chris_D[/ref] and [ref]Scubaregs[/ref] are having a personal cock-swinging contest in this thread, yet everyone else is carrying on like their posts are invisible.

They are invisible to me :D (Chris-D that is)

I simply say to the spammers' Hang on a minute I'll get him but I have to warn you he does suffer from Tourettes'. Then we have some fun.............

I enjoyed the "It's about your accident sir".
My response was "It wasn't an accident, I meant to kill them". Usually ends the call.

Had a call when out driving yesterday and it was an 0207 landline number. Said he was from the Inland Revenue and was having trouble contacting me by letter. Asked to press one to get through to their fraud line because unless I did I may be prosecuted. I don't know what I was going to be prosecuted for as the wife used some choice language and hung up.

For telemarketing, I’ve started to sell them random stuff I want to get rid of. After a minute or so of me wasting their time they get the irony of the situation…

At one time I was plagued by an organisation asking if I had ever worked in a noisy environment. It went on for weeks, different callers asking the same questions, despite my negative replies and eventual pleading for them to stop.

In desperation, I called my local police who sent an officer round to take details. He said there was little they could do, but magically the calls stopped after his visit!

One conversation went really funny and both had a good laugh in the end:
after he had tried selling sports channels and we came into the conclusion that I'm not really into sports...
me: "But I have a baby seat for 6 months to 3 years, in great condition, for sale"
him: (laughing) "I don't have kids, sorry"
me: "You have a girlfriend for sure?"
him: "No, unfortunately no. No girlfriend around" (laughing more)
me: "Then you absolutely need this baby seat, makes your bid way stronger"
him: "how???"
me: "Well, think a pic of you and the seat. On Tinder. Anyone would see that you're not just fooling"
him: (laughing even more)

I received a scam call from a mobile number yesterday saying it was from Visa and that they were checking if a £900 sale was genuine and if not I could block the sale going through by pressing option 1.

Sounded quite realistic and I think some may panic and fall for whatever it was they were doing.

I’ve had these ‘from’ my card provider, I ring the number on my statement for the security office and they say if it’s true. It never is.

I’ve had a couple of recorded messages recently claiming purchases on my credit card. :

These really annoy me as I don’t have the opportunity of stringing them along for a few minutes before telling them to **** off! :D

On credit cards, Lynn lost the additional card she has for my Amex a few weeks ago. She thinks I've reported it and keeps asking if a new one has arrived. I'm trying to get a few more weeks out of it as the person currently using it fraudulently is spending a lot less on it than she did.

I've just had a call this evening. I didn't recognise the number calling but picked it up as it was displaying my local area dialling code.
I then got a recorded message about 'My Amazon Prime account'

Looks like the scammers have upped their game!
