Phone Disaster - Can Anyone Help?

Hi All

Just got back from Paris following a week break. I use the word break lightly as while out there I sat on my phone (Galaxy S2) snapping the AMOLED screen in half. Now I have never ever damaged a phone in my life and as a result have always taken the risk of not opting for insurance (13 months left on contract) .

Looks like I will have to buy a replacement (repair seems very complicated plus I reckon there could be other issues so screen replacement might be in vain) but the majority of eBay phones look a bit dodgy.

Which takes me to my SOS. As you lot are a trustworthy bunch of souls, have any of you upgraded recently so have a spare hanging around that you are looking to move on?

I am looking for a Galaxy S2 or similar pref in v good condition.

i have just bought a S2 of ebay, £185, i went a picked it up, checked it first then paod on paypal, phone is fine

there maybe a few around now the S3 is out

i'm like you, never lost or broke a phone and never take out insurance

Can u not take out insurance and claim in 3 months or whatever the minimum limit is therefore only needing a standin for 3 months.

They wont repair as I have no insurance. Or am I missing something?

They'l still repair it , you'l have to pay for it though.

Sounds expensive. I don't ever get the insurance either but do you have accidental damage on your home insurance? Excess and hike in premiums probably mean it'll cost about the same as a one-off hit to your wallet but it may be more appealing.

Hope someone has one lying around.

Sorry I can't help as I only use iPhones, but when I damaged my iPhone 4, I bought one from eBay, just looked locally and then went and picked it up paying cash, the guy was sound and even had the original receipt, Imhave to say I wouldn't buy a phone by post as too many stolen ones around.
