Phone cradle removal

Evening all,

Having bought and loved a 2004 E85 in the Spring I decided to get something a bit more practical (although not much more) and purchased an E89. On balance it’s probably a bit more sparse in the context of bells and whistles which is ok because I have enjoyed making the odd mod to my E85. My question relates to the redundant phone cradle in the arm rest and how I remove it to make way for the all important cup holders! Any pictures/video/guidance or advice will be most welcome.

On the 2nd page of this thread I have posted a pic of the underside of the phone cradle showing what holds the cradle in place.
Plastic trim tools etc and brute force are needed to break it out unless you want to remove the whole centre console and pry it out from underneath.
The wires can be tucked under the console out the way.
