Hello folks.
Anyone who has read my posts will know the history of this car and what it means to me.
I bought it for the 2nd time two years ago after it had been left to decay on a driveway and I hunted it down to save it.
I’ve not thought too hard about selling it, but following a conversation with a friend yesterday, it made me think about a car I’ve always wanted, a Jaguar XJS of all things, it’s one of the only cars I’d consider selling the Z4 for.
I was contacted late last year by someone who wanted to buy my coupe, we agreed a rough price, but I was slow to do things (the car was in storage) and the buyer bought something else.
I’ll be asking £10k for the car if anyone is interested.
It’s a 2006, 3.0 Si manual, 84k.
It was resprayed last year as each panel has small scratches or imperfections.
It’s pretty much a one off spec and features Bi-leather sport seats and leather dash, bi-leather door cards, piano black centre console, built in SatNav, CD multi-changer, it’s a beauty.
Last year it had new disks, new pads, new calipers, new brake lines, I’ve got new shocks waiting to be fitted when it warms up a bit!
It has loads of history from my ownership (3rd and 6th keeper).
If you’re interested, drop me a line. The car is currently in winter storage and will be having a full polish before it comes out of storage.

I'm sure you'll be sad to see this leave your ownership once again. But an XJS would be a great thing to own and work on.
But, I can predict a future post in a few years 'I found my previous Coupe, again'

Seems good value for a low mile Coupe.
It's time for the many folk recently on here and the numerous FB groups wanting a good Coupe, to put their money on the table.

Question, were the photos, before or after the paintwork?

Lovely coupe, I temember seeing the story behind it on FB. Hard to believe it was already 2 years ago…
Anyway, GLWTS 👍🏻

The first three pictures on my driveway are post-respray.

After all the effort you put into tracking it down it seems a shame, but GLWTS as it's a stunner.

I hardly used it last year, seems a shame to have it not being used. I think part of the thrill was trying to find it and saving it like I did, otherwise I’m pretty sure it would still be parked up there.

Well that makes sense, but an XJS - really? And would you use it any more?

A mate of mine had a V12 5.3 litre 3 speed auto back in the 80s and it wasn't particularly quick, was addicted to filling stations, and just felt like a lardy barge if you were in any sort of hurry!

Although I do quite like the idea of a 5 litre XKR if/when I'm ready to lose a pedal.

I looked into the prospect of an XJS as a summer project. However, because I can't weld (and am too old to learn) and am not a sadist, I realised they are just no good for me. Shame because the XJS was released when I was just 9 years old and had a big impact on my love of cars. My favourite toy car was a 'Simon Templar' white XJS when I was a kid.

My old man bought a late (1990 ish) XJS 4 litre convertible as a 'mid life crisis' car about twenty five years ago. He kept it six months cos it was so terrible!!

The XJS was my dream car when I was growing up, still got all my toy car XJS.
It’s just something I have always wanted to own one day.

I’ve no idea what it is about the XJS, I’ve just always liked the look of them, essentially the face lift model, which is what I’m after in 4.0 variant.
It’s not for speed, just cruising, which is all the Z4 does when I use it.
My little 130i is more daft and silly to drive than the Z4 and really does give much away performance wise.

I owned 2x 130i before the Z4.
While they were good and very underated, they never excited me as a daily or weekend car.
The Coupe can still do the daily runs perfectly with the benefit of feeling much more special when doing the boring stuff.
The Coupe does everything the 130i (apart from the rear seats) does but looking and feeling way more of an occasion.

You wouldn't consider selling the 130i for the XJS? Or do you need the seats of the 130i?
