Phoenix Yellow Coupe

Hello folks.

This isn’t my car. Up for auction soon is the attached Z4 Coupe 3.0 in Phoenix Yellow making it one of 19 I think. Throw in the bi-leather and it’s 1 in 3, so exceptionally rare.
Mine has the bi-leather dash, the one for sale has gloss black, so even rarer.

It looks very original, I’ll be watching it closely.

A new company with most of the cars offered without reserve which seems a bit odd. I bet Pondrew will be watching this one https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2002-bmw-z3-roadster-rec14161-15-nec-1124?pn=1&el=24366&pp=100

Yuk! A cheap Tribute Automotive 'isabella' which is neither one thing nor another. They are not worth much, especially with a half BMW, half mashed up interior and a 125k mile Z3 underneath (probably a 2.2 M54).

The MOT history doesn't look great. It also looks to have been off the road for a long time.

The eBay auction says last serviced less than 10,000 miles ago. 10,000 miles ago on that car was about 9 years ago.

I personally also don’t like those wheels in general but for some reason think they look even worse on PY. First thing I’d do is change them :D

I may be sorely tempted if it was lower mileage as I’d use it as a daily and fire a lot of miles on it :driving:

Oh, and that POS Z3 based thing will resemble Pondys build in no other way other than a Z3 base. His is heading to look like one of the best ones

Shame about the MOT and service history, but if you want that colour (and it does look stunning IMHO) I suppose you'd have to take a punt knowing it needed a service ASAP. N52s are pretty bulletproof after all!

It'll be interesting to see what it makes in the current market.

I had a look at some of the cars going to auction by these people.
Auctioneers lie worse than an estate agent, or a politician on polling day. Some of the blatant lies they print when describing auction lots must be against the law, surely?

My experience of watching classic car auctions is semi-classic stuff goes for a lot less that private sellers seem to be asking.

I saw a vid where the guy reckoned N52s don't really suffer through lack of servicing.

I wish I was in a position to bid cos I think it'll sell for a tempting price.

Come on now Fred, I think it will go over the £500 you would pay. :poke: :poke:

Personally £8100 I don’t think is a bad result

£8100 is the total price including the auction fees.

The seller will get £7200. I don't think they've entered the car into a collector's auction expecting the price to be lower than many on the market.
