For auction at Bonhams £8K to £12K. I just wish they had shut the bonnet properly https://carsonline.bonhams.com/en/listings/bmw/z4-sport-coupe/86469356-ceeb-42e7-a9f4-7f952596c3ca

It looks shut on the near side... probably nothing serious, but potentially not good at all. What's the betting? I'll go "it'll sell for £7.5k to £8.5k or it won't sell at all"

1 x Bridgestone tyre, 1 x Goodyear & 2 x Chinese ditch finders...... Not an indicator of being an enthusiasts car for sure.
Rear rhs light cluster full of condensation.
Still a nice looking motor if you are into the Phoenix Yellow vibe. It's unusual and suits the coupe IMHO.

Probably don't realise there's a catch at both sides on the facelift. I drove a few miles with mine only clipped in on one side before I realised that - the prefacelift just has one catch in the middle.

Are you sure about this?

Unless I have a very special Zed, yes :)

There's still a lever/catch in the middle to prevent it flying open, but the latches to hold it properly shut are in the front corners of the bonnet instead of one in the middle.

I think the panel gaps around the car, put me off straight away. What is going on with the bonnet?. There seems to be a variety of mismatched paint around the car only emphasising the 50 shades of phoenix yellow. I would agree, its probably not the best kept z4c, but the positives are the mileage, and its been serviced to some degree. It will be a work in progress for whomever buys it. I couldn't see any receipts for a waterpump or suspension, and at this mileage, my guess is that they'd need addressing sooner rather than later. Price wise, I think anywhere between £8k-£9.5 would be a fair price. Realistically, I think it was fall between £8.5-9k.

I had no reason to doubt you, but I had never noticed before (just checked!!!)... but I have removed, refurbed and re-fixed the centre lever / catch. Shows how little attention I have paid.

I have just checked and it is pretty easy to close the bonnet such that one side doesn't click in... I think that is what might have happened

Yup there are three catches on the face lift cars. It's shut properly in other photos of the car. Who ever put the catalogue pics up need to be shot along with the photographer.

Pretty colour, but not one I could handle sat on the drive.

They also have an Alpina https://carsonline.bonhams.com/en/listings/alpina/roadster-s/8181288d-451e-4b13-8c2e-0558753afd5b

That's strong money on the Alpina. :)

Hah, has the same aftermarket head unit fitted as mine… except I've removed the advertised features sticker bottom left.

It will be interesting to see what it makes.

As much as I like Phoenix Yellow I really wouldn't want one without the matching PY Bi-Colour interior!

I'm torn between liking the PY or not.
Sometimes it looks OK, most times it can look a like baby food, mustard or custard.
I think I'm in the minority though as most folk go crazy for it, I just can't see why it draws so much attention other than the small number produced.
But doesnt that say something, if it was a desirable colour then why wernt more ordered.?
(I understand tastes/trends change through time, though, agreed)

All obviously in my opinion. Colour is very subjective.

a very unusual colour.
Doesn’t do anything for me personally.
What? :o
You don't like "newborn-baby-puke yellow"? There's something wrong with you!

Particulars of that specific car notwithstanding, I think that looks really nice.

I'm not a fan of the two-tone leathers that attempt to match the exterior colour, and I think a colour as bold as this needs subtlety elsewhere otherwise it looks overcooked / too busy. As such IMO the black leather is the best interior choice and the black wheels work well in this case too; while that's not always the case with other colours.

I'm also often on the fence about this colour (most usually siding more with "nope" it seems) although I reckon this example looks better for the above reasons. In addition the paint looks more subdued in the overcast conditions in which these shots were evidently taken and the photos seem pretty minimally processed / saturated. IMO on this example in these conditions the colour looks perhaps more like a muted bronze than radioactive baby vomit..

On the mileage alone it looks fairly keenly priced (although I appreciate the £8k is really just an intentionally-low teaser). That said from the few I've seen I don't think these tend to command as much as the more popular colours.

Just noticed it's only down the road from me, too...
