PHEW That was a CLOSE one

Faaaaaaarkkkk me :o , that was about as close as it gets, on a side note i recommend you move the cam over a little as the rear view mirror is obstructing your right side, makes for quite a blind spot

You could definitely see the van coming tho, behind all the other traffic. Positioning aside, its about being a bit more aware.

Jeez....that was close. Glad you and the car are ok. On a side note, what did you have on the radio? I'm surprised it didn't send you to sleep. :poke:

that said there's quite a way to go before the turn so I'd have taken the same route the op took,

Thats exactly why I didnt, I would have been turning in towards the oncoming lane

but from the camera's sight line you could see the red van approaching, drivers sight line - only the OP knows...

I could see the red van as it disappeared behind the second white van and from its position in the road seemed to be in the 'filter left' lane.

On another note.... Interesting radio program.
Also interesting: youtube apparently has automated subtitles..... check and see how good that works...
(push the subtitles button)

Very good point

Personally i have mine on the other side of the rear view mirror, i doesn't bother me at all being there and as the lens is right biased you can mount it tight up against the rear mirror which makes for a really good view

Find out who that van driver is and...

Buy him a drink!!

I think he did spectacularly well considering he wouldn't have seen you until very late, I don't think there was any way he could have anticipated.
I'm pretty sure you couldn't see as well as the camera but learn from the near miss, you're only an assumption away from having your car written off. Regardless of fault, you don't get your pride and joy back.
