Pheasant

Hit pheasant hard yesterday. Told wife. She looked at front of car. "Fine. No damage." Went to Halfords today. Walking back to car, saw near-side lower grill was knocked into void in bumper. Tried to pull it back onto its clips. Couldn't. Went to indy, who had to take wheel arch lining out to do the job. Told wife. She said, 'I only looked at the big grill in the middle."

Those fat birds are best avoided! I got lucky when one hitched a ride on my first Z4 in 2014.

Not so lucky in 2016 with my E46 when I needed a new wheel-arch liner. :(

They are just about the stupedest animals around. Seriously bent the rad grill on the old Eunos.
Not in the same league as badgers or sheep though in terms of impact front end damage by all accounts.

Good advice there Iain. Not relevant to the topic, but still good advice.

A pheasant cost me £900 a few years ago when it decided to fly into the nearside headlight of my E class Merc.
Yes, I know, £900 for ONE headlamp!
I tried to get insurance details but it was playing dumb and refused to talk. :o

I got my own back a couple of years later, though, as I shot it in my back garden. I think it was the same one; it looked identical. :D
