PH discussion thread of Z4MC...

Cloudy and dry where I am. I would be classed as North Midlands but no snow forecast or expected here and all but estate roads are clear.

I would not have the bottle to try and find out the top speed. In Germany i did 145 in my coupe auto. There was plenty left in the car but not in me

Well I'm never going to find out at this rate. Snow has stopped collection again. I am so fecking depressed it's ridiculous. I hate the fecking snow :headbang:
I feel for you Stu, I am in the same boat :headbang: it's doing my head in I keep watching the weather & hoping & praying it will be alright on Saturday I am sick of waiting too! :(

When have they said you can collect it?

Calling again at mid day for a weather update. I don't care if its snowing, bit I do care if its settled on the roads. At my end its ok.

BTW, the reason I was trying for today or tomorrow is the told me heavy snow forecast for the weekend again :headbang:

I want to just get it home and into its new garage (which is not climate controlled!)
Good luck with the pick up then Stu if it happens :) I will keep positive that I can collect mine on Saturday aswell :driving:

I'm with you. The car is faster than I am :)

I have seen 1.6 leptons indicated in my car and it felt fairly stable to be fair much more stable than 1.86 leptons indicated on my GSXR750K9 ;)

I reckon the M could get upto around 175mph+ indicated so maybe a genuine 170+ is possible.....

Also seen an indicated 1.61 leptons and was still accelerating fairly quickly. I reckon 175 or thereabouts would be V-Max.

... so no-one saw my video I linked in the second post? lol

Here it is again... Top Speed Run

Given a bit more road I think it would have crept closer to the 185 mark... GPS from that run read 172mph.

I reckon it would probably max out at 175-ish with a normal engine. I did v-max mine (165 indicated where the limiter kicked in) at least once a month when I had it, but anything over 140-odd required concentration and forward thinking. Also, the last 30-odd miles per hour took a while in relative terms to be attained. In contrast, I spent a good 10 mins sitting at 172mph in my E61 M5 on the E40 approaching Kerpen in Germany with an RS6 in tow. Utterly boring and terrifying at the same time - I knew with the limiter removed, the car had another 32mph of top speed on top... Oh, and last but not least, I could see the fuel gauge moving!!!

Still miss my Z4MC every now and then for its character...

Nice video, I've never had mine even close to 150, yet somehow that makes me want to delimit it

while in Germany :) , I had the ZMC at 167 in fifth with 2 suitcases in the back , it didn't take long to get there and what shocked me most was it was still accelerating , showing no signs of struggle , I lost my bottle and backed off .

Truly awesome car ....performance bargain ...will be sad to see mines go in next week or so .

ive only had mine to 145ish :-( it piles on speed above 100mph at an alarming rate.... i reckon theirs a genuine 190mph in it if i had the balls and space :-) id love to do it fully boosted with methanol being sprayed for added pant browning factor.

have you recorded a video of your acceleration? of the speedo i mean

id love to see a compasrion of stock acceleration vs a vt2 side by side...

Although there is a weight disadvantage, there are video comparisons of standard vs VT2 on an E46 M3 out there... I'll try and dig one up.

andy...why did u get rid of your tvr for the ///m?

more reliable enjoyment? is it much less of an event for you?

At the time I'd just bought my first place 12 months previously (some say I should have done it the other way around of course), and I couldn't afford both. That and it was coming up for it's 3 year anniversary and I didn't want to run it without warranty either. It had 2 engine rebuilds in the time I owned it (and 21,000 miles).

ouch!! so basically slightly less bang for a lot less buck by going with the ///m?
even though uve prob spent the same amount on modding it as my entire car is worth....
love the seats though, and the exhaust, and the alloys...

think u ll ever go back to tvr? sagaris or tuscan 2?
