Petrol smell

Hi all,

I'm getting quite a strong smell of petrol coming from the engine of my e85 3.0. You can sometimes smell it inside the car, but the strongest smell is when stood with the bonnet up (more specifically, to the left hand side if you are facing the car).

Andy has had a look around, and can't find a leak.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Agreed - I would never drive a car with a strong smell of fuel in the engine bay. It's a short cut to a big bill.

As for the source it's hard to say, but I'd be tracing the fuel line from under the car to injectors
 
Lol. Good luck with that buddy....
Check your fuel rail. I noticed a feint smell when I came to take off my intake manifold to replace the CCV system.
replaced the seals and smell hasn't been back....
