Petrol Prices!

I think this may be a Government pre-election ploy! Keep nudging petrol prices up while they can get away with it (because they are so far as no one is doing any major complaining yet!! Good old UK!!), then closer to the election, drop the price!!

paid 116 for Tesco 99 and thought that was bad.
Have had to revert back to the lower grade petrol as my local tescos has stopped selling it as the 99 pumps are always coned off,so might have to try the BP equivilent but at least i get the Nectar points.

The government put 2p on a litre when they dropped VAT to 15% and said this was to help the economy, it has not gone unnoticed that Now VAT is back up t0 17.5% they have failed to take the 2p back off the petrol. :x :x

Even more scary is that there are enough morons in the UK walking around that are STILL thinking about voting for this bunch. Unbelievable, I thought it was a done deal they were on their way out. Just a matter on how big the loss was going to be, never considered what is going on now...

I can remember my parents saying at the time just before the election where Labour won for the first time in ages (96ish?) that "they will promise us lots and then Tax the hell out of us - just wait and see", turns out they were right for once :D

Not that difficult a prediction as they have done so since year dot ...

I posted that earlier!

It hasn't gone unnoticed your right, but what are people doing about it? Nothing! So what will the Government do? Nothing! :x

I was looking at the first page of this thread today. Someone was paying £1.02 at the beginning...

5 pages on, my local garage is £1.13..

I cant see why people are not kicking off? Hauliers, drivers, transport bods... :|

Or have we just learned to bend over and accept that this is the way it is...

Normal unleaded (not super unleaded) hit 120p near me I noticed on the way to work this morning! Diesel is 121p!!

Super unleaded (BP Ultimate etc) is heading well towards 130p!!

Government is about to put another 3p a litre tax on it as well!!

It's gonna make inflation spike again.

Ultimately the cost all comes back to everyone.

Call out for a plumber, they charge more. Goods in shops, they all cost more due to transport costs going up. People commuting using cars, spend less on other goods/services as they have less disposable income, AND those goods/services cost more too...

Ready for the second part of the double dip everyone!? (imo)

Dave

It will also hit interest rates (as in push them up!) so the people that get hit with the rise in fuel prices get hit again!! :x :x
