perspex wind deflector

After reading through the other tread regarding wind deflectors I'm thinking about one of these.

Has anybody on here got one, what are they like? I would say all other opinions welcome but on here that's a given I think :P .

Thanks in advance.

I've had one of these on my current Z4 for two years - much better than the mesh one on my previous car. It's a permanent fixture, roof up or down, and much clearer. The velcro tapes are not the prettiest item, but in fact they are hardly noticeable.

Plastic has a natural static charge and tends to collect a lot of dust. When you clean said dust. It will scratch easily. I would think that unless it was very thick. It may tend to flex and rattle with the variable wind buffeting it will be subjected to.

make one.

This has come up on the forum before - a lot of people have said they rattle. There's also a case for them not being as effective as the mesh due to a pressure differential. Oh and the one with the clear plastic clips around the hoops damaged the hoops :( Don't think that one has been linked here though.

Yeah i remember asking about these a while back,im still undecided regarding rubbing/moving issues with the straps around the hoops.

Mine doesn't rattle, move or rub and I have done ...er 70mph with it on.
£30 of tinted 5mm acrylic sheet, and yes it reduces the turbulence.
Not for the purists though as you should only strictly fit the string vest gimp mask, or black fishing net in a greenhouse plastic window frame.
Those have a set of brackets in the boot so you can hide them....thats where the one on my last Z4 lived

I have the roadster solution one fitted to mine and is brilliant doesn't rattle, rub, squeak or suffer from sun glare in fact when you look in the rear view mirror you dont even know its there and looks a lot prettier. Not to sure how it compares with wind buffeting but if your that worried you are either breaking the speed limit :P or should have bought a coupe
One thing though as others have mentioned is to be careful when cleaning there are prone to scratching.

Thanks guy's. I like the look of the roadster solutions one, Jonny did you get yours over here or did you get it sent from over the pond?

I also found this one, too much of a tarts handbag IMHO.
