Perspex wind deflector?

I've seen a few of these on eBay... Has anyone had or seen one as I like the idea but want to know if they look decent enough? :D
 
I think the general consensus is that they rattle at speed, and blind drivers behind (sun reflection). They're also less effective than the mesh type of deflector, to the point that motorway speed it's no different than not having one at all.

Stick with the BMW deflectors.
 
Yes, they're decent. They clip into brackets in between the roll bars. The wind deflectors often come up on eBay, unfortunately often without the brackets. I have seen people have made the perspex ones and made the channels for them to slot into. I was talking with cj10jeeper about this at a recent meet and we didn't think it would be too hard to get two buy the channels that you would use for a perspex unit and adapt them for an OEM deflector.

There's two kinds. The 'Mesh' wind deflector slips over the top of the two hoops and clips into place. Can get one for £70-£100 on ebay.

The other kind is a proper fit that slots inbetween the two hoops into the aforementioned channels. A retrofit kit is about £250 or so - you can retrofit yourself with a torx screwdriver.

Both are official OEM, the latter is the best option. Don't get the latter on ebay unless you're sure it's the full kit (it won't be 99% of the time).
