Regardless of how you train...how do you get motivated when you've lost your mojo?

I used to train about 5 times a week (gym, running, bootcamp*) but for past 4 years just lost all motivation, and as nutrition is so poor, I'm now over 21st.
*Boot Camp - ran by an ex-marine who is now a fully qualified fitness instructor. No ex-army type crap involved.

Spoken by someone with experience I take it?

That's a useful contribution Tim. From that I take it you have a ripped Adonis-like physique and so the mere mention of someone needing some help to kick-start their fitness regime is something you find incredulous and highly amusing?

No, just a normal chap, normal weight, normal fitness, balanced diet, doesn't drink or smoke etc etc. Personally I wouldn't waste my time and money on a Personal Trainer, money for old rope![]()
Irony is the fittest people I know who have used personal trainers are the ones who appear to suffer more than the average health complaintsbut then its personal choice.

Personal trainers can be very useful in certain situations. I don't pay for one myself but I have used free consultations with them to help me design a weights and CV programme. They won't be for everyone but if you have very specific goals they can be extremely useful.
My personal opinion is they're a waste of time and money, simples sp3ctre said:Makes me laugh when people sneer at £30 per hour (once a week), and have an E89 sat on the driveway spouting out depreciation like nobody's business. At least trying to better your health is an investment in your future, we cannot say the same for the cars we drive.
Sure, £30 per hour can seem a lot of money, but there are lots of people on here earning a fat lot more than that, and if you compare that price to most individual tradesman (plumber, sparky etc) you'll probably find that they couldn't really do the job for a right lot less than that.
I could use a PT to be honest (getting a bit fat)... I'm not getting one because I can't really afford it, but I really applaud those who go that route, I know of a few who have and they have transformed their health and fitness beyond belief. It's not an overnight change, but in a few months it is definitely noticeable.
' comment was sneering and judgemental then I suggest you take heed of an old saying "if you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all"TitanTim said:original guvnor said:[So why didn't you say that in the first place then? No one is sneering, it was aMy personal opinion is they're a waste of time and money, simples
its my opinion thats all, take or leave it with a pinch of salt  With regard to being judgemental you could be more judgemental than myself, but then I don't know you from Adam just as you don't know me, so your comment is perhaps a little meaningless.
Its the same with people using life coachesbut then like personal trainers if it helps them or going to church then great
