People commenting ... grrrr

I went to the Bike show at the NEC in Birmingham today all the way from Swindon.............guess what, roof was down all the way :driving: .Did get some funny looks when we were stopped on the motorway because of an accident :D but i was lovelly and toasty at 4c outside, even had to turn the heater down!
I really don't give a toss if anyone doesn't like it, i ride motorbikes in the cold...........people don't moan about that.

+1 Had the top down today too - just nice and bright and clear - couldn't resist :D

Hang the stupid comments - you are happy so what does it matter

Yep best bit about owning a roadster, top down motoring. Had the roof down yesterday, gorgeous bright day - so just had to be done, even when there was a light shower  Heater on feet and face - sorted.

I drive top down in -3 celsius also and I dont give a damn about coments from people since they are just jelaous of the nice car you have :D

There is a song from Lil Jon that says describes my attitude towards these wankers, it goes like: "Pocket full of money nigg@ - I don“t give a fu%k! etc..." :D

I'm on my fifth roadster and in all that time have never experienced anything like that (probably just lucky). We didn't buy these cars for their practicality, we bought them to enjoy them whatever the weather and my personal opinion is to hell with everybody else. To many people a car is just a mode of transport, for us it's a passion, there's the difference.

..there have been days in the Summer colder than 4 degrees. At least the sun's out today 8)
I sit in a office all day.. I want all the fresh air I can get.. roof down :D

i'm quoting this and the previous post.....though you can't see the previous post, cause I cast invisibility on it.....yeah......

I'm top down most of the time as it doesn't see fit to rain lately. My boss shows up about the same time I do and the few times he's caught me with the top up in clear weather, he asks if i'm sick. He's 62 and drives his ferrari (some cheap model as he puts it) with the top down in all weather.

Watching the flags by the names as I was reading thru this thread I noticed that this seems to be a culture difference. Here in the ole U.S. it's more like, "Look at that idiot with his convertable top UP! What a F$%^ing wuss! It's above freezing and not raining... hey idiot, why'd you waste your money on a convertable if your not gonna use it properly!" 8)

that seems ok but just be careful, putting your top down in very cold weather can seriously damage the folding motors/mechanisms.

i went for a long blast in the crisp winter on sat with the top off- loved it and didnt care what anyone thought! it was one of thebest drives ive had in a while. I do find in town/traffic people do look at you and think twat but f them they are only jealous!

So I had my roof down today, yeah it said it was 4.5 Degree's outside, but I have heaters in the car, the sun was shining, clear blue sky, not a cloud in sight.

I drove into Durham cty centre, to drop a friend off at the bank, while I was sat waiting for him, licking through the tunes on my Ipod (not loud at all) about 3 people walked past, and I heard them reference, "look at that idiot with his roof down on a day like today, it's freezing" ....

I couldnt help but have a little giggle to myself but geez, it doesnt have to be belting hot to have it down, does it?

Rant over lol

lol

i'd have started dabbing my forehead or waved my handbook near my face.

To be honest I would say the same thing!! You look like such a nugget with the top down when it's cold. Why have the top down if it means you need a coat and heaters blasting?

How someone reacts to this says a lot (maybe too much) about their own state of mind. if you're a positive, generally happy person, you see the positive in the top-down driver, especially in winter. If you're a negative person, not-inspired with the world and often whinging, then your spontaneous reaction will be negative.

Wrap up well, have fun whatever the weather. If you hear someone comment negatively, then smile knowingly. You're having fun. They're not and they've just told you that they're miserable.
