People are awful

So I’m sitting in my car waiting for a take away order to be ready. Next thing I know I feel a bang of someone hitting me from behind. It was a van.
I go outside and the guy was about to drive off.
I stop him and he gets out of the car. First thing he says is “I didn’t hit your car”.
I said of course you did I felt it and everyone sitting there saw it! I’m he said no no no.
I then pointed to my dash cam and he says “oh I’m really sorry”.
Worst part was he had sensors and just keeps going until he hears bang!

Tiny scratch on my bumper. I got his details, but I’ll use cosmetic repair insurance that I have to fix it.

So annoying though.

As an ex-van driver, I can confirm that it is completely normal to park 'by feel'. A van without multiple scrapes, dents, etc is not considered 'acceptable' and can lead to horrendous bullying from our peers in the 'trades'.
A clean van is also not acceptable. A cock and balls symbol and phrases such as "I wish my wife was as dirty as this van", or "please don't steal my tools, I need them to pay for your benefits" are obligatory to be written in the dirt.

You're right, there are too many people around like that.

Glad the damage wasn't too serious.

Yes that's true my van has more dents than flat panels. But mostly down to car park lamp posts and brick walls. Also it's good for pushing in. :D
