Great choice I ended up in an E89 for similar reasons - UK winters with no garage storage option.
I also have the Tesla (works car) and because our family of 6 is a little larger than most we have always run a Chrysler Grand Voyager. The family is grown up now so the Chrysler generally only comes out for camping trips and I've just bought the lad a SAAB convertible for his 21st - have to say that the soft top on the SAAB certainly seems capable of dealing with the UK winter
She started in her daycare a few weeks ago. It's only about 2 km away from our home. My wife takes our other car to work earlier in the morning so I drove our girl there with my bicycle for two weeks every morning. The weather started to turn more rainy last week and luckily we got the Z4 just in time a week ago. So this is a very new thing for us, just 3-4 daycare drives with her yet, and we had a short drive last weekend with the roof down too. She seems to enjoy our Beemer almost as much as her father.

One fresh photo from this foggy morning. She is pretty alright. Got the new tires on yesterday, but didn't have time to do a good test drive yet. But they sure feel better than it was before, no surprise there.

Thanks! Yes, I really like the combination too. It was a special "Design Pure Balance" package for Z4 that had these Mineral White paint and Brown Merino leather seats with contrast stitching back in the day.
