got myself a set of pedals to replace the standard ones, no drilling etc, fit fine, and all fiited apart from the dead pedal.

Went to remove the standard foot rest/dead pedal and there's no screws on it, is it just glued in or what? was just going to screw the new pedal over it but it started raining and levering myself into an angle to get access was a total ballache, so taking it out and reinstalling might be far less hassle...if i knew how it was attached!
 
lads has anyone done this before? had a look online and a few places said it's just velcro... if it's velcro it's the strongest velcro in the world that could stick a slab of concrete to a wall
 
its got a flap on it, about half way up.
open said flap and you'll see a nut.
undo nut.

:D good stuff i'll have a look,
thankfully i hadn't reached the stage of prying the thing with a screwdriver...but i wasn't far off
 
actually.. just checked, and i'm lying to you..
its the Golf that has a flap :thumbsdown:

it appears to be stuck down to the carpet.. like you found, if it's velcro, it's bloody concrete velcro

i suspect it's stuck with butyl or similar.....
 
lol was about to post there's a flat in the trim above it but nothing on the pedal.

aye i can't budge the thing at all
 
it turns out it's velco on mine..
i pulled from the bottom and it eventually started making the standard 'velco undoing' noise.
 
The plastic footrest is attached to the carpet as far as I know. I used trim tape to attach mine on my e89,works fine & not drilling holes into the bulkhead. Will upload photos later. :thumbsup:
