Following on from another thread, it seems a Peak District/Derbyshire/South Yorks meet would be popular, so I've set myself the task of arranging one.

Sunday 23rd September is the date for the diary, the weather usually plays ball in September and hopefully an indian summer will mean its a pleasant day for some top down driving before many of you tuck the cars in the garage for the winter.

We will meet somewhere mid-peak district, this allows those in the North West, Midlands, Yorkshire all a reasonable chance of attending. Format will be the usual forum meet of some good roads with a mix of cruising and scenic driving through some stunning countryside. Toilet/Coffee breaks along the route with some pub grub for lunch.

To summarise:

Date: Sunday 23 September
Time: 9am for 9:15 Start
Meeting: Chatsworth House
Route: All over the Peak District

If interested, please reply below with forum & real name, car and colour and if you'll be bringing a +1.

Thanks, Adam

I'll add you to the list, i'll take a look at the cafe although I think Ashbourne will be too early in the day for a stop as we will likely head that way first but nothing is confirmed as yet.

Will you be bringing a +1?

We will be away in Spain, but there are a couple of possible places for a stop. One is the Yew Tree Inn at Cauldon, a fascinating place with plenty of parking. http://www.yewtreeinncauldon.co.uk/
A good place for lunch is nearby, the Country Cafe at Winkhill. This used to be a scruffy transport cafe, but was taken over by Cottage Delight, a local company who make preserves and chutneys for Harrods, among others. Great food, not too expensive, and a great car park for parking and peering at zeds! http://the-cottagekitchen.co.uk/

Me and the wife could be interested if I'm not working

I'll put you down as a possible for now to keep you updated and you can let me know closer to the time.

Route is pretty much sorted now. I am planning to drive it over the next week or so to check all the roads are in okay condition and for any speed traps etc!

Morning will be some faster roads, a coffee break followed by some slower/winding roads then lunch. After lunch it will be some faster roads again to the finish point. I've left the last leg a little shorter than the others incase people are wanting to get off earlier or we pick up any delays through the day. However, I will plan a slightly longer route also, in case we want that on the day.

Plan is to start and finish mid-peak district so its fairly easily to head back to Manchester/Sheffield/Derby etc depending where people are coming from. Once I've got a definite route and timings I will update.

***UPDATE***

Route is pretty much sorted and I will be booking the lunch spot in the next few days.

Meeting point will be Chatsworth House at 9am for a 9:15 departure. The house wont be open then so we should be able to park up/meet infront of the house for a couple of photos before we head out.

I'll send some further details closer to the time with more info on the route.

Hi there, I've never been on one of these but am interested.

What is the etiquette on bringing a friend in a non z4? Is that a no-no? He has an abarth 124 spider so still a 2 seater drop top and no chance of him embarrassing our lovely zeds...
