PDC question

Hi
Recently purchased a 2014 E89 with idrive, and first post here so please be gentle i have searched threads but can't find my answer, when i put the car in reverse the rear sensors work but should the screen on the idrive change to give a graphic also working through the menus there is no option to turn down the PDC volume ,is this correct or is there a problem, if someone could help me or post a video of what happens when they put their car in reverse that would be a great help .
Thanks Ben

I have a 2010 E89 and when I put it into reverse the sensors work and as I get closer to an object a graphic appears on the screen, green , yellow through to a red line and the warning sound gets louder as get nearer. Never thought to /or tried to turn down the volume. Just don't go to close !

This is from the owners handbook
I’m not sure if the visual display is standard on all idrive systems or an option, the tone becomes quicker until constant as you approach something and the volume should be able to be adjusted.

If it’s OE sensor system then go to settings volume to adjust volume….it can only done whilst in reverse I think

Looking at the options list it says PDC front and rear, if you only have rear then I suspect they are an aftermarket fitment, so sound only.

Thanks for the replies so far, it is an OEM fitment and there is a lot of new methods and features to learn i will try adjusting the volume with the car in reverse.

"Bong" and "PDC" volumes can be adjusted at any time. It's only phone volume that needs to be in use at the time of adjustment.

That's what I thought, rear PDC works but idrive doesn't click to graphic and front PDC doesn't work at all also the option to adjust PDC volume isn't there so it looks like we will have to get it repaired under warranty

I did wonder this while reading through, aftermarket parking sensors then.
You "could" change it all over to OEM PDC, but they would need coding. I happen to have a video on that...

You need a VO check then. You'd be looking for 507 (rear only) or 508 (front & rear). But without the switch AND no option on the iDrive screen then I don't think you'll have those options in the list.

What makes you so sure they are OEM?
