PCV/CCV valve knackered?

Just completed a recent major overhaul of the control arms and suspension. In doing so I found the oil leaks a garage couldn’t find. Vacuum pump, oil filter housing and a very obvious sump gasket.

Starting up she ticked over fine and there didn’t seem to be any issues but as soon as I drive away, thick smoke!

A quick google and I’m seeing it could be pcv/ccv valve. Just over 100k in the clock, valve didn’t look like it had ever been changed when I was in the engine earlier.

What’s the general consensus. How could I have fucked up a simple seal change to this degree?

N46. White smoke I think. I’ll fire it up tomorrow and give you more detail. I’ve ordered a PCV valve anyway. I just can’t see what else it could be given what was taken off the engine.
