Pathetic UK cold weather excuses?

Now that's snow on the line, and they got through! The plough was awesome!

It can’t be that cold - the postie still has his shorts on up here!

And its not like they had our 'modern' thermal clothing - how ever much effort it took to shovel the snow I bet it took half as much again just to move the fabric in the jacket/coat. They were 'ard then.

I was 11 when I moved to this part of the world so I still had to do a bit of walking to school , I remember climbing over 3 foot snowbanks on the sides of the road, minus 35F and trudging through a lot of snow, yes it was uphill but only half way, then it was downhill coming home :D It was only half a mile  I don't remember a single "Snow Day", it's not like that now, six of inches of snow and the radio starts listing school closures. Oh well, at least I don't have to go near a school anymore

6" of snow ? no where near that these days. :|
I went past a school on Thursday which had not opened due to snow and there was hardly any snow to be seen. It's a bloody joke how the H+S and media whip up mass hysteria about weather conditions. God help us if we get some real snow

Well, despite the ‘beast from the east’, I spent a lovely cold Saturday morning driving around North Wales...in a Z4...with summer tyres on :o

Did take my still-unused sno-socks with me though...just in case

I took a shovel with me today and I needed it.

and continuing in the crazy snow theme... there are reports that people in Somerset are trying to sell bread and milk on facebook due to shortages in the shops, with ad's priced at £100 for a loaf to, believe it or not £5k :w00t:

My mate is just south of Launceston...about 2 miles away from the nearest A road...and he's stuck at home as he can't get any of his cars up the 20º drive

Even if he could, there's no way he'd be able to get to a cleared/gritter road anyway - as all of his cars are on summer tyres.

This is the main road in and out of the village where I live ..

Stuck in for 3 days

At least the dog enjoyed it..

Bloody hell Gaz, that’s a fair dollop!

If you need anything we’ve got an Evoque so I’ll bring you supplies if you need them as far as I can get.

That's what you call proper snow, if that hit London, I think the world would end...according to the BBC
