went to put down window today it went down about 3/4 then made a loud bang noise went up on its own now you can hear the motor when you press the button but window does not move our local bm dealer want £150 to investigate????
any ideas as to the problem please :(

yes thats the cable you heard snap,you can fix it your self http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfD5XtLG9sI or the garage will do it .
just dont spend £150 for garage to tell you what you already know .and then pay to fix it.

I would be tempted to do this myself if it happened as from various threads it seems that the waterproof membrane, that is on the door, gets destroyed during the installation procedure by people who have no interest in the car. And from what i've read that will lead to water leaking problems.
