Mines auto down but manual up. I thought it was just designed that way.

Both go down and up on mine,keep finger on button for 2 secs.

Reprogramming using a computer is not necessary, all you need to do is follow the guide here :

Different techniques work on different cars, just takes some time. Procedure 3 worked for me.

Operation of the windows and what they do depends on how far you move the switch. There are two 'levels'of press - a quick flick that doesn't lift the switch or depress it the whole way will move the window in increments, if you press it the whole way down or lift the whole way up then the auto up/down kicks in.
