Passenger side scuttle drain-

Hi all-just found passenger side carpet damp :( -if I pour water into the drivers side scuttle grille the water comes straight out the bottom near the jacking point, but if I pour water into the passenger side scuttle grille it takes time to come out the bottom-is there an easy clear out without removing the scuttle?-I also found bits of leaves stuck to the upper passenger footwell although carpet dry there-done a quick search but in panic mode now  -thanks for any advice.

The drain channels below the scuttle may be blocked, time consuming but often the answer, if its not the door membranes.
Theres a thread on zroadster.org on the drain channels

Thanks -thought that was mainly z3 over there?

I washed the inner door sills yesterday-especially around the BMW kick plate-would water find its way under it into the car?

Could water get under the BMW kick plate on the sill and enter the car?-trying to picture it from in house at the mo.

From whats been posted on here with ppls cars leaking over the years it normally boils down to a badly fitting/re-fiited or perished door membrane....failing that its blocked drain channels, that can fill up with crud and then the water needs to go elsewhere, i.e into the footwells, etc.

Its time consuming taking bits off to get at the drain channels underneath the scuttle panel at bottom of w/screen, but a good indy may be your best bet :D
