Passenger side electric mirror stuck in "Up" position

Hi there,

So i've had my Z4 for nearly 18 months now - it's an '06 roadster. My GF has borrowed it today and pressed a button that moves the wing mirrors into "parked" mode, she's pressed it again but the passenger side one isn't returning to normal mode.

Any one else had any issues with this ? - could it be a switch / electrical issue or should she just manually move it back into position ?

exactly the same issue here mate. did u try folding it down manually?

I am hoping to get the folding mechanism replaced on my next visit to the mechanic
 
Didn't realise what you meant initially. You're talking about the powerfold feature?

Didn't think you could replace just the motor... I've not heard of anyone doing it. Please do post if your mech finds a way round this!

I'd try spraying it in WD40 and trying to get it moving. Perhaps disconnect the driver side before trying to cycle the powerfold function. Then grease it properly with some lithium spray or something more substantial than just WD40 (if you get it working).

I wouldn't advise manually persuading a powerfold motor, but am no expert! :)
