Hi all, I’ve just got in the car and a bulb warning light has came on. On inspection, the passenger side halo light is out. Had a word with my indie mechanic and he said that on my car I need to replace the full headlight unit. Car is a 2009 E89 3.0 sdrive. Is this right? Do I need a new headlight? Thanks in advance if anyone can advise.

No you don’t need a new headlight, from memory if you lift the bonnet and look at the top of the headlight there’s a cover that twists off giving access to the bulb.

Chippie is correct , later LCI versions had the built in LED unit..yours has a halogen bulb..

Buy some after market LED bulbs.
The way the light is reflected inside the housing look for bulbs that has leds at the end of the bulb as well as sides.

Thanks for all the reply’s, replaced the bulb and everything working fine again. I’ll be having a word with my mechanic 😂😂
