Passenger Occupancy Sensor Fix

Evening all,

I have what appears to be an intermittent fault with the passenger seat occupancy sensor on the M at the moment.

The occupancy pad is a non-OEM type fitted under the Squab Alcantara pad on my Tillett bucket seat. I'm fairly sure it's a slightly cracked connector, but the issue I have is the MOT is coming up. The Pad is connected in the normal way to the car wiring loom via the plugs under the seat.
My question - does anyone have any experience and recommendations for a resistor or module to plug into the plug and effectively delete the occupancy sensor.

Before anyone jumps down my throat on this from a safety perspective - the car is fitted with Schroth 6-point harnesses; if anyone got near enough to the dash with their head in the event of an accident they'd be a sodding giraffe!

Thanks in advance!

Ed

I put one of these in and all is good

I have an intermittent seatbelt light when the passenger seat is occupied and sometimes when it's not occupied.

Do I understand correctly that these seat-occupancy bypass dongles will prevent the airbag deploying in the event of a head-on crash?

I’ve just bought these. I know the occupancy sensor is easy to fit. What about the seatbelt one? Do you get a diagram or instructions?

Thanks Zoomer! I'm hoping my mate with Carly will remember to bring it in to work on Thursday so I can be absolutely sure of the issue, but that certainly looks to do the trick, and based on a quick google the image below appears to confirm it deals with the correct fault light I have coming up!

I received them today. What video?

So having run the codes in carly this appears to be a Safety Terminal fault on the battery - the one that isolates the battery in the event of a crash or roll. No fix for that with the plugs so looks like it'll be soldering iron out 🤦‍♂️

I found one on the web but basically you extract the pins out of the connector and slip the new ones in . Whereabout are you

I’ve just ordered these from eBay. They include instructions within the item description. It looks fairly straightforward 🤞

lads,

i have an intermittant alarm for seat belt not connected when it thinks someones in the seat (something light like a bag or phone sets it off or sometimes nothing).im wondering if thats why i have only occasional use of the heated seat function.does the seat heat switch not work if it thinks no ones in the seat ???

Unlikely but it does point to possible loose connections for your seats. Have a check under them :)
