Hi guys, just driving back and I put the foot down and I hear a crack and look and mirror looks like it’s been burnt.

Please see picture, I think my hard acceleration was just a coincidence

Please see pic. Be interested to understand what’s happened and wondering is just the mirror glass I need to replace or further behind it.

Thanks in advance

I was going to buy this from amazon as i can it delivered tomorrow to replace the glass? what do people think?

They clip on differently to the way the z4 normally does it but it they still fit properly. However you will need to extend the wires for the heat pad as the connectors are in a different place.

If you don't want heated mirrors then don't worry about connecting the wires

okay, isnt the cause of this because the heat element has leaked? just thinking if i dont connect then no chance of the issue re occuring?

I don't know if the heating element is what's caused it. Can only assume.

Has the fuse blown for the heated mirrors in the fuse box?

I would consider it safe to wire up the new mirror as it comes with a new heating element.

Isn't the heating element on permanently though on the Z4 whenever the ignition is on?

It does turn off above a certain temperature but otherwise it's always on
