Passenger Footwell

Hi, i was replacing my standard mats today with new rubber mats. When i lifted up the original mat in the passenger footwell (RHD car) i noticed that the floor (carpet) was a little wet. Has anyone ever experienced this before... is it a know problem? Thanks in advance

I had it on the driver side, i tried just putting a hole in the seal at the bottom of the door at its lowest point but it didnt work too well.

i ended up making 2 holes either side and putting some really small cable ties in to depress the rubber. i then twisted the locking bit of the tie to stop it scratching the paint. all dry and no problems since :D
