Passenger door won’t unlock

2004 z4 passenger door will not unlock from inside by pulling the handle. What functions does the key perform? Open the trunk, lock the door, unlock the door (I think) mine doesn’t unlock anything but the trunk. The center console where the emergency flasher switch is located the door lock switch only locks the door but will not unlock. Is it also suppose to unlock the doors? I had this problem when I first got the car but after many attempts I got the passenger door unlocked but after a few tries it locked and now will not unlock. I want to fix the problem once and for all any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry guys I see where I posted this same issue a while back and got some good advice. I think I’m going to remove and send off for repair to bmwgm5.com and hope for the best but I would appreciate if someone can tell me the function of the fob and center console buttons. Thank again

Pretty straight forward and just what you would expect... centre console button locks/unlocks both doors; appropriate key fob button locks/unlocks the doors, and unlocks the boot.
