Passenger Door Window Regulator

Ok I think the Regulator has died a death today, this morning the window would not close completely then after removing all the door panelfitments it went up to the top so I thought great, however, I thought need to find out why.

Was it lack of lubrication or cable issue, so I carried on with a bit of siliconelube then the window seemed to slow down a bit less but ha ha it then stopped half way.

Would not go back up to the top then there was a ping and the cable with the big white end and a spring popped away from the regulator :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

So can anyone give me and idea of how much a replacement part is? Is it a DIY or best to take to garage??? Mucho help needed asap please, the windo is now up but for how long as its gravity thats holding it in place I think at the moment. :cry: :cry: :cry:
 
149 GBP ish for the regulator. then a fairly easy DIY. will take around 2 hours first time.

Door card off (how to on here) a few bolts to get the old one off, new one on, a bit of jiggling to get it sat right. done.
 
greeno, how you make it sound so easy :) Door card I could do with my eyes shut setting up even looks easy as I have done it before, but the fitment scares me silly :cry: :cry:

Gonna get a couple of prices tomorrow, not wat I need so soon after chrimbo but wat can ye do?? :thumbsdown:
 
Like most simple jobs nothing is that simple if you haven't done one before, got the tools (trim clip etc), the book, the bits or the time - frameless windows can be a fiddle to adjust without getting wind noise, I had mine done for under £200 all-in at a trusted local garage.
 
Oh well I took it to my indy and whilst I trust them with my car looking at your price ranges I feel like I have had my pants pulled down :( :(
I paid £280.04 to get it fixed £139 for the part the rest was labour n VAT :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown:

Feel like crying cause I really did not need this but then again there is never a good time to get a bill especially a big un :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
