 Here & there
Had the car detailed and somehow the grill on the speaker has been crushed, bloody annoying to say the least; its the one on the reverse of the mirror in the triangular housing top front of passenger door.

Anybody ever taken this off ? Had a look but cannot see how its held on and wondering if its a door panel removal.

T I A for any assistance

Those are the tweeter covers ,think they can be removed using a plastic trim removal tool
Try a search a few people have removed them to fit their own tweeters

Thanks metal lcker, they seem to be a stand alone unit and can't see how they are attached to anything.

I'll do as you suggest and search the forum for ideas as to removal.

Just pulls off with fingers. Start by easing out from under the rubber trim first. Be careful not to slip and damage the the grill further especially when refitting.

Hi, mine too has been push in, niggles me more than anything else.
If you find a guide or can provide a few photos to help please share.
I'll have a go myself sometime soon when I get round to it - I'll take a few photos.

Very very simple, took me all of a minute. Part number for N/S tweeter housing is B51.33.7.238.717 and price is £12-09 (exc VAT).

Hope this helps you out but do make contact if you need clarification on any point.

So, hold and pull top of housing outwards from retaining clip and then pull up to release tang from keyhole shaped slot. Remove high density foam padding from housing to reveal speaker and then free small speaker by gently prising back the three inbuilt retaining clips. Take new housing and clip speaker into recess ensuring wires are to bottom and in small dedicated slot/groove for wires. Replace padding over tang and male prong that engages with retaining clip. Ensure padding is located correctly and sits inside moulding of housing.

Reverse removal by putting tang into top of keyhole slot and pushing in and down to both compress foam and locate tang into bottom of slot. Push prong smartly home into clip and check door trim rubber abuts the exterior of tweeter housing and et voilà its done

Thanks zebedee.
Took a quick look at removing the tweeter door housing after you posted your instructions, however, I got nervous about breaking something. So decided to leave it for a hot summers day when the plastics would be more malleable.

Today, I decided to go for it, taking a photo to help others.

1. Hold and pull top of housing outwards from retaining clip (A).
2. Pull up to release tang from keyhole shaped slot (B)

Word of warning, the first time I refitted the housing, retaining clip (A) was pushed into the door, fortunately, it got lodged behind (C), with great care and small fingers I was able to retrieve the clip through the hole (D).

Tip: to inhibit the chances of scratching the door interior panel, I slid a cloth between the interior and the bottom of the housing.

Thanks again, job done.
