Passenger door stuck closed

Incoming idiot moment :headbang:

I took my passenger side door card off to investigate and fix a speaker issue which thankfully I sorted- magnet had fallen off the speaker and fell into the void in between the card and the panel - but on reassembly I must have reinstalled the little white plastic door handle actuator incorrectly. I shut the door to test it and voila, stuck.

I know what I did wrong, the interior door handle was in the wrong position when I reinstalled the actuator- how do I take the door card off from the inside to fix?

Crikey

You should be able to get to the 4 securing torx in the door card, but how you get it off I’m not sure- with the door closed against it

I read a thread from a few years ago where someone got the drivers side stuck, they had to take the dash vent off and prise the top of the card off to get in- maybe that could work? Will attempt tomorrow

Hello.
Did exactly the same myself a few weeks ago .......
It is possible to get the card off with the door closed.
Undo the torx screws, prise off the tweeter, get your fingers into the gap where the speaker was and attempt to pull the top of the door card off the clips at the top.
Then go and get a plaster to stem the bleeding from your shredded fingers.
With the top removed from the clips its just about possible to reach in and fiddle with the door closer mechanism.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice johnsi, turns out all I had to do was reconnect the battery, allow the electrical system to re-energise and then do a few remote locking cycles for the exterior door handle to work again- got the interior door handle hooked up again and working.

Only problem is the b*stard locking flag/button on the passenger door broke when I took the door card off- the plastic piece connecting it to the lock has snapped :headbang: any idea where I can get a replacement?

Not a 100% sure which part you mean :).
One of these? :

Is the clip your after listed on the parts diagram?
Have a look at item No 23 and view the photo in the parts listing, think you mean this connecting plastic part.

Ah sorry if I wasn't clear- the plastic piece keeping parts 11, 12 and 23 connected to part 9 has sheared. I'm assuming that means an entire new lock?

OK, looks like its going to be item No 23 in the parts diagram that connects the push rod to the lock unit. If the problem is on the lock body where No23 fits then sound like replacement lock will be needed.

You should be able to find a replacement on ebay
