Parts to have on hand for differential swap

A friend of mine who is a life long mechanic but not much BMW experience is going to replace my differential. Just wondering what parts we should have on hand that should be replaced when doing that job?

Gaskets for reinstalling the exhaust I assume...anything else? He says it should be a 2 to 3 hour job.

I would like to have it back in one day and not have it sit around waiting for parts.

2004, E85, 3.0, manual transmission.

Perhaps some flat repair washers for the various screws holding on the aluminium heat shields. found mine had corroded so the hole in the shield was bigger than the fixing. Exhaust gaskets as you say, and probably worth renewing the rubber exhaust hangers, and making sure the new diff input flange piece is well greased before you install the diff. Lots of other posts on here about the "clank" Not essential, but worth checking while you have it apart.

My mechanic (though not a BMW guy) took a look under the car this week and he thinks he can do the job without dropping the exhaust, but I’ll get the gaskets in case he is wrong.

Only 1 heat shield is bad...beat up from someone bottoming out on it. I already have a new one of those on hand.

I see that the cover plate gasket is no longer available and BMW recommends Loctite 5970.

Any specific grease to use on the input flange? I assume a high temp wheel bearing grease?

PDJ when you mention bolts and “plates” by plates do you mean part #2 in this drawing?

Also are the bolts a one use item? Or is there another reason to suggest replacing them? As I count there are 16 of them, at the price I found them for, they would be about $100 USD. The heads of the current bolts aren’t really rusty, they look like they should be easily reusable...unless, of course, they are a safety item and should be replaced for that reason.
