Parts problem for 2003 Z4

I get the "Front Bumper trim" off, and I begin to make a list of replacement items (too mant times against curbs by previous owner). Not too bad I believe, other than the Front Bumper Trim. Low and behold, the "cover, bottom left and right" are "ended" according to realoem.

Both left and right are damaged to the point of needing to be replaced, but now I am worried. Will the dealer be able to order these 2 parts? Surely they can be had. :(

Buddy L, welcome to the forum...
I see no reason why the part could not be ordered....

Thanks WLH.

I was concerned only because RealOEM seems to have virtually all parts (or access to them).

A great deal on this Z4 has allowed me to bring it back to primo condition, and it seems this forum and various parts suppliers will make it a labor of fun!

I will give Moritz BMW a call in the morning (I live in Fort Worth, TX) :)

Buddy L, usually on realoem, where a part is "ended" there is a description to a new part below it, they don't usually just discontinue them. What's the part number, or which section are you looking?

Did a search in ECS Tuning, and found their ES part number (51717012725 becomes ES#129068 and 51717012726 becomes ES#129069). Between Christmas lights, yard work, Bumper trim removal, etc.., I finally parted out the front end. The parts in question were in the 51-75 Mounting Parts, Engine Compartment .

Thanks for the help. :)

Of course, you could take the opportunity to customize vs. OE

I have considered the M bumper trim, but the "Cover, Left/Right" will be needed no matter what I do.

Suggestions are always appreciated!

I replaced all three plastic pieces underneath last year on my 03. You can mail order the OEM replacements from various sources...

These are where I get a lot of my parts.

If I remember, the large center ENGINE COMPARTMENT SCREENING (06) was $165.00 and the left and right Air Ducts (01) were $50.00 each...

Also take the part numbers down to your dealers parts counter. They just might have them in stock... especially the small fasteners and screws that you will want to replace because they are rusted or broken.

Trademotion has the better prices!

I will inventory the fasteners and screws for the fix. In addition, I need to replace the Front Bumper Trim (someone backed into the Z4 when my nephew was acting as Power of Attorney during a divorce - no obvious damage, but integrity of the trim was lost), and will have to get it painted (comes primed). Any suggestions?

Looking forward to the fix!
